The business and service
Board Beat provides organisation of casino-themed and other themed offline events. Contact us at [email protected], +64 4 774 3298, or Suite 4.2, 342 Lambton Quay, Wellington Central, Wellington, New Zealand. These website terms should be read together with the written proposal and booking terms agreed for your specific event.
Enquiries and confirmed bookings
Sending an enquiry does not reserve a date or create a confirmed booking. Availability, the selected services, location, guest count, running time and price must be agreed in writing. Any acceptance steps, payment dates and booking conditions are set out in the proposal before you commit. We do not take payment through this website.
Published starting figures are indicative planning amounts for the expressly described scopes. Final pricing, GST treatment and the total payable are confirmed in the written proposal. Additional work or changed assumptions must be discussed and agreed before related costs are incurred.
Your brief and responsibilities
Provide accurate event information and tell us promptly when it changes. This includes guest numbers, venue details, access requirements, the programme, approved artwork and relevant venue rules. You must have authority to supply branding, images and personal information that you ask us to use.
The agreed scope identifies who is responsible for the venue, catering, guest communications, technical equipment and other suppliers. We discuss delivery access, setup, event operation and pack-down windows with the appropriate contacts. The client should arrange the permissions needed for the agreed use of the venue and disclose practical restrictions early.
Delivery, suppliers and changes
We will perform our agreed services with reasonable care and skill. Equipment, staffing, décor and timing follow the accepted scope. Any supplier responsibilities or exclusions are identified in the proposal. A material substitution or change affecting the agreed experience or price will be discussed with you.
If you request a change to the date, venue, guest count, duration or production elements, we assess availability and the effect on costs and logistics. A change becomes part of the booking only when agreed in writing. Do not assume that a revised date or additional service can be supplied at the original price.
Payments, cancellation and rescheduling
Payment arrangements, any advance payments and due dates are specified in your written booking agreement; this website does not impose a standard deposit percentage. Ask for clarification before accepting a proposal if any amount or obligation is unclear.
Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. The written agreement will explain the applicable arrangements, including any properly incurred commitments to third parties. Any charge must be consistent with the agreement and applicable law; these website terms do not create an automatic right to retain all payments. Where a refund or another remedy is required by law, that right remains.
Events outside reasonable control
If an event outside reasonable control affects delivery, we will discuss practical alternatives, such as a changed format or date, and the consequences for costs and refunds. This does not remove obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded. The appropriate outcome depends on the agreement, the circumstances and applicable New Zealand law.
Entertainment, age and venue rules
The service is offline themed entertainment. Casino-style activities use play chips or points with no cash value; no real money is staked and no cash or real-world-value prize is awarded based on play. We provide no betting service, online casino account or gambling wallet.
The 20+ restriction is Board Beat’s business policy for its adult-themed event service. Venue-specific access and alcohol rules may also apply. Alcohol supply, if separately arranged, must be handled through an appropriately licensed venue, caterer or other lawful arrangement. These terms do not claim that Board Beat holds an alcohol or gambling licence.
Creative material and website content
Our event concepts, artwork and website material are supplied for the purposes described in the agreement or website. Rights to custom work and any permitted reuse should be agreed in the proposal. You retain rights in materials you provide, subject to the permission needed for us and relevant suppliers to deliver the agreed work.
Website atmosphere images and proposed scenarios illustrate possible event directions. They are not evidence of a named client engagement, a particular venue partnership or a guaranteed final installation. The confirmed event is defined by its written scope.
Consumer rights and concerns
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Fair Trading Act 1986 or other applicable law. These general website terms do not automatically contract out of consumer guarantees for business clients. Any legally permitted business-to-business contracting-out would require a separate, appropriate written agreement and the statutory conditions.
Raise any concern with [email protected], describing the event and the issue. We will consider it and discuss an appropriate response. You retain the right to seek help through the Disputes Tribunal, a court or another lawful complaint route where available. New Zealand law governs these terms and the local service. An overseas owner does not by itself change that governing law.
