MAKE SPACE FOR CONNECTION

A different way
to work together.

Team-building is most useful when people understand why they are taking part. Board Beat plans interactive programmes around a clear objective: helping colleagues get to know one another, encouraging cross-team conversation or creating a lighter shared experience after a demanding period. The activities support that objective rather than becoming an obstacle course of unrelated tasks.

Our programmes are planned for up to 50 guests. We can discuss small-group challenges, team zones, branded décor and adventure- or competition-inspired themes. The right approach depends on the people involved, the available setting and the desired level of activity. We do not assume that every team wants a physical contest or that everyone is comfortable performing in front of colleagues.

A good brief identifies the group’s working relationships, the reason for the session and any sensitivities. Are participants meeting for the first time? Is this a reward after a project? Do you want colleagues from different departments to mix? These questions help us recommend a programme that feels relevant and easy to join.

THE ELEMENTS OF YOUR EVENT

Considered from every angle.

A purposeful activity sequence

The session has a welcome, clear challenge instructions, transitions and a close. The mix of activities follows the agreed objective and the time available.

Facilitation & team zones

Facilitators support participation and explain what happens next. Equipment, team areas and signage are selected for the actual group and venue.

A setting that changes the pace

Branded décor, adventure-inspired details or a competition theme can mark the transition from work to a shared event. Styling remains proportionate to the programme.

PARTICIPATION COMES FIRST

Enough structure.
Room to be yourself.

An introduction sets expectations and explains how the session will work. Participants can move into small teams, receive a clear challenge and rotate between zones at an agreed pace. Facilitators keep instructions concise, help with questions and make the transitions understandable. The programme includes breaks and a close that acknowledges the shared experience.

Activities can vary in pace and emphasis. A problem-solving task encourages people to combine ideas; a short interactive challenge can lift energy between conference sessions. Theme and décor help distinguish the space from the working day, while signage and layout make it easy to find the next activity. The final selection is discussed for your specific team.

We avoid promising business results that one event cannot guarantee. Instead, the proposal describes what people will do, how the session will be facilitated and how it connects to your stated purpose. If you want a discussion or reflection at the end, we include that in the running order and agree who should lead it.

THE PRACTICAL BRIEF

Design around
the whole team.

Tell us about mobility needs, sensory preferences, language needs and any limitations on participation. We can discuss seated alternatives, quieter areas and different ways of contributing. The aim is to make expectations clear and offer an experience that does not rely on surprise physical demands or personal disclosure.

For an indoor programme, the layout should accommodate activity zones, movement and a place to regroup. An outdoor idea needs a weather plan and an appropriate venue arrangement before it is confirmed. We discuss equipment, supervision and access with you and the venue. Any specialist activity provider is scoped separately rather than assumed to be included.

A compact session may fit a meeting break, while a longer programme can combine activities, meals and a social close within the overall maximum of 9 hours. Food, transport and venue hire are not included automatically. Share the available time, New Zealand location and budget so we can recommend a useful scope without overloading the day.

A CLEAR STARTING POINT

Make room
in the plan.

Team-building programmes start indicatively from NZ$1,500 for up to 20 participants and around 90 minutes, with a lead facilitator, standard activity materials and normal local setup.

The final scope, GST treatment, travel and any additional costs are confirmed in a written proposal. Published figures are indicative planning amounts, not fixed quotes.

A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Does the programme need to be physically demanding?

No. Tell us about the team and access needs so we can discuss a format with appropriate physical demands and alternative ways to participate.

Can you work within a conference programme?

Yes. Share the agenda, available room and session length. We can discuss a focused interactive contribution without disrupting the wider event.

How large can the group be?

Up to 50 guests. Group size affects the number of zones, facilitators and the time needed for rotations.

Do you guarantee improved team performance?

No. We describe the activities and intended experience rather than guarantee workplace outcomes. Your objective helps us shape a relevant programme.

Can it be held outdoors?

We can discuss a suitable concept, but weather arrangements, access and any specialist suppliers must be agreed before confirmation.

What does the starting price cover?

A compact facilitated session with standard activity materials and local setup, as described on Pricing. Venue hire, catering, transport and specialist activities are additional unless quoted.
